I recommend this book as a gift. When a freind or loved one is new in grief this is an excellent survival book. It is black and white designed with a simple layout for the newer greivers.

"Men Don't Cry... Women Do" by Terry L. Martin, PhD and Kenneth J. Doka, PhD

I found this to be a wonderful book and workshop. From the title and description (Transcending Gender Stereotypes of Grief) I was taken a bit by surprised as this is not just a book about the differences of how men and women grieve but going deeper into the subject of grief and 3 different grieving styles; instrumental, intuitive and dissonant (which is the median between instrumental and intuitive). This is a wonderful addition to Dr. Martin and Dr. Doka’s series in Death, Dying and Bereavement that is must read for the counselor who desires to improve upon their tools to better assist their grieving clientele!

On Death and Dying by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

I can not say I have read this thoroughly. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross is well known for her work in hospice. This book is very informational but keep in account she has died and the book is a classic but some of her research (as is with all research) debatable and outdated.

Safe in the Arms of Jesus by Robert P. Lightner

"God's Provision for the Death of Those Who Cannot Believe" ... which is a great book for those who have suffered the loss of a child or are mentally challenged. Ginney I thank you for this gift from the bottom of my heart.

A cute book with letters written by children giving us some wisdom through their eyes. A gift left for me from Greggy (that I had given his older brother when he was a baby, who later gave it to Greggy).

God's Promises for KIDS by Countryman division of Thomas Nelson Inc. Nashville, TN with colorful art by Sandra Meyer.

I suggest this as a gift to adults (of course kids at any given time) in the very first stages of mourning, when you find it hard to focus or read. A gift left for me to find from my son Greggy.

A beautiful book with poetry, words of wisdom and short stories containing painted portraits of babies, children, adolesences and animal angels. Thank you Sherry for this beautiful gift.

The idea here is to talk about what articles, newletters, magazines, links and most of all books that have been helpful to you and why or why not.
